Visa is a document required by certain countries to grant permission to entry into its borders to citizens of other nationalities. In General, visas are stamped or attached to the passport and determine the length of time of the visit and its purpose. There are different types, among which the most recurrent are: tourist visa; student visa; business visa; transit visa; diplomatic visa; journalist visa, and even seen.

If you plan to go abroad, look for information if the country of destination requires entry visas for Brazilians and follow our tips. To give an idea, 104 countries require visas of Brazilians.

This is not the case for members of the European Union (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania and Sweden), which require only the submission of passport.

Already in the countries of South America, Brazilians can travel only with the ID card. The exception is the French Guiana, overseas Department of France that still requires visas of Brazilians.

  • Note: to get the visa or entry in some countries, it is necessary to introduce the international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever. The vaccine, with validity of ten years, is provided by the national health surveillance agency and can be taken for free in health centers or in the main airports of the country, ten days before the trip, to say the least.
